Extraction method

Pepper mint oil is extracted from a whole plant in the ground that will be harvested before flowering. The oil is extracted by steam distillation, using fresh or partially dried plants as raw materials, and the oil yield ranges from 0.1 to 1.0 percent.

Chemical composition

The main chemical constituents of peppermint oil are menthol, menthol, eucalyptus, methyl acetate, methyl ethanolfuran, lemon olefin, pinpene or pinene, cybelene hydroxide and bullerone.
